Prepared to act? How Government can support a 'whole of society' approach to national resilience

At a time of increasing geopolitical uncertainty combined with heightened awareness of health, economic and environmental crises, a focus on building national resilience against the risks that the UK faces is more important than ever. The Government has committed to a 'whole of society' approach, where responsibility for resilience is shared by Government, local communities and individual citizens. Yet how prepared does the UK public feel in the face of these risks - and how prepared do they feel the Government is to mitigate and respond to them?

The Verian Institute for Public Impact, in partnership with the School for Government at King's College London, is convening leading experts to discuss how preparedness to act varies across these different domains. Drawing on new data showing how far the UK public trusts Government to act, supports investment and feels involved, our roundtable will ask what lessons can be learned, how can public engagement be increased, and what challenges remain?

Join us for a discussion of the growing need for Government and the public to act together to build resilience in response to an increasingly complex risk ecosystem. This event will bring together wide-ranging voices to share insights and perspectives on the UK's preparedness for this requirement, and opportunities to improve.
