The global geopolitical tilt has led to a reconfiguration of national security and defence policy across many EU 27 countries, and from the European Commission, the implementation of the European Democracy Shield.

In this new policy making arena, ‘soft’ power includes the nature of local community, population level value systems, and cultural beliefs and behaviours.

The Verian Institute of Public Impact will be hosting a roundtable to explore new citizen-based evidence for decision making for the new era:

  • What is the level of community resilience across the EU 27 and how do values, attitudes and behaviours align?
  • What are the levers that policy makers have to support resilience at the population level?
  • How does this vary across the EU 27 and what are the critical fault-lines?

Panellists at this event include:

  • Chair: Dr Michelle Harrison, President of Verian Group and Chair Verian Institute for Public Impact
  • Keynote: Daniela Ulicna, Managing Director, Verian Brussels and Principle, Verian Institute for Public Impact
  • Respondent: Silvana Koch-Mehrin, Founder and President, Women Political Leaders and Advisory Board,Munich Security Conference

The Verian Institute for Public Impact brings citizen insights to coalitions from government, the private sector and the third sector to consider policy and public impact. Working multilaterally, it convenes in Brussels, London, Berlin, Paris and Canberra. Please sign up to our Verian Institute for Public Impact mailing list for more insights and updates.
