On April 1 2026 Melanie Wiese, Managing Director, Australia joined the Research Society's Government and Social Research 2026 Conference in Canberra.

The Conference is aimed at professionals who use, conduct, commission, or engage with government and social research, bringing together participants from government, academia, and industry. Its purpose is to share insights, foster collaboration, and explore how research can support evidence-based policymaking and social reform, with a particular focus on truth, trust, and transformation in public sector decision-making.

In 2026, the conference and speakers explored the overarching themes of Truth, Trust, and Transformation - delving into how truth and trust underpin transformative policy and social reform to share insights, spark new ideas, and shape the future of evidence-based decision making.
